Sourcing Story
Where this material came from and how we verified it.
📍 Origin
Manufactured in Ohio by a coatings company focused on low-VOC industrial and residential finishes
Developed originally for commercial gym floor refinishers who needed to reopen facilities the same day — oil-based polyurethane's 24-hour dry time wasn't viable. The residential version followed because the non-yellowing property was actually better for light-stained floors than anything oil-based could offer. The chemistry is tighter than most DIY water-based poly you'll find at a home center.
✅ Quality Checks
- VOC content tested per ASTM D3960 — confirmed ≤175 g/L (well below 250 g/L limit)
- Yellowing index tested per ASTM D1925 at UV accelerated aging — less than 2 YI units at 200 hours
- Abrasion resistance tested per ASTM D4060 (Taber abrasion) on hardwood substrate
- Dry time and recoat window verified at 70°F/50% RH standard conditions
